Itinerary
- Depart Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as "Morocco's Little Switzerland," and the cedar forest near Azrou to see the Barbary macaque monkeys.
- Continue through the scenic Ziz Valley and past the town of Erfoud (famous for fossils) to Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes.
- In the late afternoon, enjoy a camel trek into the dunes to reach your desert camp for the night, complete with a traditional dinner and Berber music.
- Wake up early to witness the spectacular desert sunrise.
- Spend the day exploring the desert surroundings: visit a local village like Khamlia to enjoy Gnawa music, explore an oasis, or try sandboarding.
- Spend a second night in the desert camp or a hotel near the dunes.
- After breakfast, leave the desert for Rissani and travel towards the Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon popular for hiking.
- Continue through the Dades Valley, known as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs," for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
- Travel through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura oasis to Ouarzazate, often called "Hollywood of Morocco" due to its film studios.
- Visit the iconic, UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified village used in many films.
- Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), offering stunning panoramic views, and arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
- A full day with a local guide exploring Marrakech's imperial splendor, including the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Majorelle Gardens. Spend the evening soaking up the atmosphere in the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square.
